The entire story is about nuance. It would also be a challenge to adapt/direct given the delicate process of realization that makes the entire plot arc work. I think the chance that the movie will be successful artistically or commercially is narrow, but if it is it will probably end up being amazing. I tried it twice in Spanish and once in English, and each time I put it down about half way through. I must have a faulty Marquez gene.
