The Missing Tapes
by JS
By all accounts, Palin’s practice press conferences and debates were disasters. Presumably, they were taped disasters, which pretty much means that certain Republicans inside the McCain camp have veto rights for any potential future Palin efforts. In other words, if you’re Palin, you better make sure that anybody who prepped you doesn’t end up on Romney or Huckabee’s primary effort.

M’s vote was decided by this poor pick of a vp candidate. I’m writing this Tuesday night, morning your time, so I don’t know if there was surprise upset. But both M and I thought that a pick like Condi Rice, would have guaranteed McCain the election.
Was she approached and declined? Will we ever know? What actually was McCain’s thought process when he picked Palin? It’s that decision making process that turned M off. Especially given McCain age and past cancer history. I had no answer to this argument.
You don’t have to shore up your conservative base, when you are running to the right of a left liberal candidate, you need to pick off the moderates who might go left … Duh !
