Politics Redux

Apparently I was channeling TPM when I asked, “Where is the reform?”

As for Palin’s speech, where’s the flag pin?

UPDATE: So I really need to back off the politics for awhile and do some, you know, real work. And nobody listens anyway, so I’m just going to make one metapost then go back to talking about artificial intelligence and computation, stuff the I’m supposed to know something about.

So here it goes: We’re at a point where the political arguments that conservatives leveled against liberals can now all be reflected back upon the new ticket. Observe:

  1. Experience?
  2. Patriotism?
  3. Seriousness?

You could make cases that the Republican ticket lacks in many of these categories.  These would have the same credibility as the arguments we’ve heard from Republicans for months now (which is to say – not much). What does it say about our politics that I could take a months old Obama hit piece, apply

s/Obama/Palin/g

and publish a comparably credible attack piece on Palin? I guess I’m tired of political football. So I’m checking out for awhile. Till election day.
