Today's Misc.

I was writing an entry about poetry. I’d forgotten how easily I lose interest in it. Hence the lack of a poetry post. I’ll quote a bit of what I wrote:
I used to write poetry. Looking back, I’m inclined to believe this was a representation of magical thinking, the strategy young minds use to bootstrap into more sophisticated models of the world.
and
The best poetry seems to encapsulate a larger story in a small set of words, transcending the episodic and descriptive for something plotted, complex and varied emotionally within the context of a larger world.
The rest was even worse.
The only thing I have to say is that I hope I’m not the only person addicted to date lab.
